Scaling New Heights by Hello Angel

Released by Wentworth in the summer of 2019, this design could be considered the first of the Vine-Cut range, many of which are also by Hello Angel. The patterned, shaped animal jigsaws were quite a thing just before and during the pandemic. Patterned animals weren’t new in Wentworth’s output – they had issued 210pc Sue Coccia Dragon (before 2014) and Lara Skinner designs (c2013).

In December 2020 when I assembled the jigsaw I wrote, “This is quite an unusual cut for a Wentworth jigsaw because it follows the trend of Artifact, Liberty and the newer Eastern European laser-cutters of making connectors into fancy shapes. Here we have stars and fishtail connectors. There are also some curly pieces, like waves or seaweed plus fish whimsies. The cut also has a line of cutting, interrupted by tail connectors that follows the line of the upper fin and features annular cutting on the head and tail fin.”
