Five to Six, The Palace of Westminster, London

An unusual monochrome watercolour image of Big Ben from the Thames Embankment in blue-purple. The plywood jigsaw uses the early Heritage cut. The shiny multi-lingual box contains a flyer mentioning the three sizes available – 140pc, 250pc & 425pc - and the 1996 Gift of the Year award nomination.

A very similar painting to this, The Embankment by John Burrows, appeared in the Wentworth 1997-8 catalogue, as part of an 8-title Traditional Collection. The Embankment is a portrait image, tightly cropped around the tower of Big Ben.

John Burrows took up art commercially in the 1990s. He had exhibitions internationally - including one on the walkway of Tower Bridge in 1997, called 'London & the River Thames'.
