Constructional Jig-Saw Puzzles
A series of 3D-enhanced jigsaws, which Brian Price records as 7 titles. These are:
GB3 Battleship
FB1 Empire Flying Boat
MT4 Miniature Express
GA2 Short-Mayo Composite Aircraft
CL5 Union Castle Liner
US6 United States Liner
CR7 The Car Race.
The titles seem to have been introduced in two waves, some about 1938-9, three titles in 1952. They are also listed as the 3-Dimensional series in the c1967 Catalogue.
Outline-cut around the subject and incorporating different thickness's of plywood, as well as raised areas in the assembly tray, these three-dimensional puzzles are quite scarce, perhaps indicating fairly limited production of what would have been quite costly puzzles to make.
