Last Turn, The

Fascinating little plywood jigsaw puzzle, estimated to be of c1920-30s origin and featuring a charming and very unusual artistic study, showing a cleaner tidying up after the performance, accompanied by the theatre cat!

The puzzle is semi-interlocking in cutting style, with rather an interesting feature whereby the cutter has generated three distinct sections of rectangular patterns, which I found myself assembling independently, before realising how they joined up!

The painting carries a signature in the lower left corner, but I have not yet been able to identify the artist.
