c1920's, solid mahogany-backed, semi-interlocking jigsaw puzzle from Holtzapffel's superb Figure=It=Out range.
The artwork, which is unsigned, is thought likely to have originated as a theatrical poster for one of the early 20th century productions of the Verdi opera.
The puzzle has parted company with its original box, but retains the original cutter's label to confirm its identity.
