The Blue Cloak

This painting was Heather’s choice when given a cutter’s artwork choice commission and she made a 2D version no903, 865pc measuring 22x16in. David Pollard missed out when its first owner sold it on ebay, so he approached Heather to make him another. Heather then created this masterwork, her largest extensively 3D jigsaw for any customer. She had a huge backlog of commissions but David waited patiently for over a year - it took Heather a month to cut it in early 2024. This jigsaw is interlocking, line-cut, 3D-enhanced and measures 31x22in. David displayed it at a BCD meeting in Sept 2024.

The 1559 painting shows people, animals in literal illustrations of Dutch-language proverbs and idioms. Brueghel's theme is the absurdity, wickedness and foolishness of humans.
